Citing the ruler as ‘Khān’ (‘Khan’ in Arabic) within a central dotted circle on the obverse, and as ‘Tikīn’ (‘Tegin’ in Arabic) on the reverse field; around a dotted triangle, ‘lā ilāha illā / Allāh waḥdahū / lā sharīka lahū’ (‘There is no deity but Allah, the One, there is no partner to Him’ in Arabic); in the margin, ‘bism Allāh ḍuriba hādhā al-fals bi Farghāna sana sitt wa thamānīn wa thalātha miʾa’ (‘In the name of Allah. This fals was struck in Ferghana in the year 386’ in Arabic). Rev. ‘li-llāh / Muḥammad / rasūl Allāh / Tikīn / al-jalīl’ (‘To Allah. Muhammad is the messenger of Allah. The glorious Tegin’ in Arabic); Citing Ahmad ibn ʿAli as Tungha-Tegin Abuʾl-Hasan in the margin, ‘mimmā amara bihī al-amīr al-jalīl Ṭunghā-Tikīn Abuʾl-Ḥasan mawlā amīr al-muʾminīn’ (‘From that ordered by the glorious amir Tungha-Tegin Abuʾl-Hasan, vassal of the Commander of the Believers’ in Arabic).
